Harissa Spice Mix

Description

Use to make a homemade harissa paste. Mix equal parts spices, water, and olive oil. Harissa powder is great for seasoning kebabs, vegetables, and other cooked meats, especially lamb. If you’re using it to make classic harissa paste, try using the paste as a spicy condiment in place of mustard or ketchup (especially if you are looking for added heat)! You can also use harissa spices to make a homemade Yemeni seasoning known as “zhug” by adding a teaspoon each of ground cloves and ground cardamom to 3 tablespoons of harissa spice mix.
