A small, extremely hot pepper, the Pequin Pepper registers a fiery 9 out of 10 on the pepper heat scale. This orange and red pepper has a light, sweet and somewhat nutty flavor. Easily crushed and sprinkled on beans, salsas, and other Latin dishes, Pequin Peppers can also add a mildly volcanic zest to soups, sauces and vinegars. Melissas dried peppers, sold under the Don Enrique label (Melissas own line of Latin items), have a more distinctive taste than the same versions sold fresh since the process of drying pepper also brings out their flavor.

Melissas Dried Peppers are hand-selected for excellent quality. Choose whole, unbroken peppers with deep color and a fresh scent. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry, dark place for up to six months or more.
