Closely related to cayenne peppers, De Arbol peppers are bright red, 2-3 inches long and pointed. Thinly fleshed, De Arbol peppers have a searing, acidic heat and are primarily used in powdered form to make sauces, but can also be found in soups and stews. Melissas dried peppers, sold under the Don Enrique label (Melissas own line of Latin items), have a more distinctive taste than the same versions sold fresh since the process of drying peppers also brings out their flavor.

Melissas Dried Peppers are hand-selected for excellent quality. Choose whole, unbroken peppers with deep color and a fresh scent. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry, dark place for up to six months or more.
