This delicious handmade salt is the talk of the town all over Japan and is now available in limited quantities.

Categorized as salt but considered as pure umami. With such a premium taste, it’s almost as though this can’t be categorized as salt. Sprinkle this on any of your meals to enhance the flavor! Quantities are limited, so we apologize ahead of time if it is out of stock.

This salt is very mild compared to table salt and according to research conducted by the Japan Food Analysis Center, “Rokusuke salt” contains 122g of sodium chloride for every 150g, 18.5g of free glutamic acid (the flavor of kelp), 680 mg of 5′-guanosine acid (the flavor of shiitake mushrooms), 740mg of 5′-inosinic acid (the flavor of bonito flakes), 50mg of potassium, 30mg of calcium, and 20mg of magnesium.

To put it simply, although it is salt, it contains 81% sodium chloride. Glutamic acid, which is a flavor enhancer accounts for 12% of this salt. Most salt is said to contain 98% sodium chloride.
